Heartland DSC Partners with Make-A-Wish to Award a Trackchair to an Iowa Youth

Heartland DSC partnered with Make-A-Wish of Iowa to award an Action Trackchair to Jonathan, a 14 year old from Iowa with a neuromuscular disorder. Jonathan loves outdoor activities and spending time outside with his family, but has mobility restrictions due to being a wheelchair user. When asked what is his biggest wish, an Action Trackchair came to the forefront of his ideas because it will allow him to be able to enjoy family hikes, bike rides, beach time, and so much more than he is currently able to do. He dreamed of being able to go further into the woods with his drone to explore, go hunting, and go to the mountains in places like Colorado. Receiving an Action Trackchair provides Jonathan the freedom to get outside, explore, and do what he loves!

During September of 2024, Heartland DSC in partnership with Make-A-Wish was able to fulfill Jonathan’s wish by presenting him with an Action Trackchair. The day after the chair presentation was the start of Iowa’s youth bow deer season and Jonathan and his father already had plans to head out into the field the next day with a special crossbow attachment to the chair in pursuit of Jonathan’s first deer. He will also be out chasing deer during the upcoming firearm season. We wish him the best of luck and look forward to seeing photos of Jonathan’s outdoor adventures. Thank you to our donors and sponsors that make it possible to positively impact these young people’s lives.
