Heartland DSC provided an ActionTrack Mobility Chair for a young girl in Iowa living with Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2E which is a rare and recessive disorder characterized by progressive weakness and wasting of muscles. Prior to her diagnosis, she had spent much of her time outside enjoying the country, fishing and going along with her dad on bow hunts, all which came to an end as her condition progressed. Now, with her new all-terrain mobility chair she can return to these activities she loves. Within minutes of receiving the chair, she was out exploring the family farm and trying her luck at fishing in the farm pond.
Thank you to all of our donors and supporters that make this possible!
